Data Science Rosetta Stone

A Tutorial of and Translation between Data Science Programming Languages

Elaine Kearney

Welcome to Data Science Rosetta Stone! This resource includes examples of common data science tasks, organized in the same way across 4 data science languages, MATLAB, Python, R, and SAS. Before beginning this tutorial please check to make sure you have an updated version of MATLAB, Python, R, and/or SAS installed to prevent differences in results. For more information on this, please see the FAQ page.

To the extent possible, all four tutorials follow the same progression and can be compared by example number. The tutorials also include extensive helpful links to the documentation for the programming languages. All data used in these examples are available at this data.world project workspace, and all code for these tutorials are available at our GitHub repository at https://github.com/datasciencerosettastone.
